Dale and Joe at O’Reilly Auto Parts were genuinely incredible today. I came in with my husband’s 2002 Toyota 4Runner that hasn’t been driving for a couple of years — and to make it worse, someone tried to steal it this past year, so the ignition was completely shot. I walked in with a total laundry list of things I thought I needed and asked if someone could help me figure it out.
Dale didn’t hesitate — he came right out to the car, helped me identify what I needed, and went above and beyond to support a DIY fix (even though O’Reilly isn’t a mechanic shop). He even helped me remove the busted ignition lock cylinder, which was a huge help.
Then came the hard part: I tried installing the replacement in the parking lot and it just would not work. After about 30 minutes of YouTube videos and frustration, I went back inside (defeated 😅) and asked for help. Joe came out and spent a solid 30 minutes troubleshooting with me — trying different options and working through the issue step-by-step. Dale came back out too, and together they finally got it working. I was able to drive away because they didn’t give up.
This kind of customer service and care is rare. As a woman especially, you don’t always get treated with patience and respect in auto parts settings — and both Dale and Joe were kind, professional, and truly helpful. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I’ll be buying my parts here from now on. Highly recommend!

We had an excellent experience at O'Reilly Auto Parts last night.
Jeff took the time to thoroughly check our battery, alternator, and starter, explained what he was seeing, and offered clear, practical advice without any pressure.
Outstanding service! - knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful. This is exactly the kind of customer experience that keeps people coming back. Thanks again, Jeff!

Every time I come in for something, the staff here is wonderfully helpful and never makes me feel like any of my questions are dumb (even when they are!)
Recently, I was helped out by Ray for a new car battery. He clearly walked me through the options and helped make a good rec for the kinds of conditions my car usually experiences. After installation, I had an issue with one of the terminals and went back to the store to troubleshoot. Suffice to say, we were able to determine a fix and parts together even having him come out to my car to look at the issue.
Absolutely recommend this location for its staff and helpfulness.

This place is awesome. I had to come twice in the last week for different things and the staff is so friendly and helpful! I bought some new windshield wiper blades and one of the staff even offered to come out and put them on my car, that really was the extra mile for me.

Friendly and helpful staff and located right in the heart of Ballard with off-street parking. Wide variety of automotive tools, parts, and accessories—ya know, O'Reilly's. I'm pretty good with vehicles, and often just pick-up online orders there, but they've always been happy to answer any questions I might have.

Excellent Service and Genuine Help, But Watch the Policy Tone
I'm consistently impressed with the team at O'Reilly Auto Parts, and that's why they earn a strong four-star rating from me. The customer service and care here are generally top-notch.
Every time I visit, the staff is knowledgeable, patient, and truly focused on getting me the right part or the right tool the first time. The employees on the floor go above and beyond, not just selling an item, but offering helpful advice and even walking me through minor installation tips. Their willingness to look up diagrams and ensure I had all the necessary components for my repair was a level of care I genuinely appreciate.
The only reason I'm holding back that fifth star is a brief, slightly off-putting interaction with the manager regarding the return policy for tools. When I simply asked for clarification on returning a specialized tool I might not need, their comments in passing came across as a bit terse and less customer-focused than the rest of the team. It felt like they were anticipating an issue rather than simply clarifying a policy.
Overall, this is a great store with fantastic people who know their stuff. Just ensure you read up on the official tool return policy beforehand to avoid any potential friction!
